It all depends on your needs and your therapist’s approach. Many people find that the most significant progress happens during the first 12 sessions.
Therapy is a space and time you set aside in your busy life to dedicate to processing your thoughts and emotions with a professional who can help you learn how to take better care of your mental wellness — and that of those around you.
There are many reasons why someone might seek therapy. Some examples include:
- You’re struggling with a big emotional issue
- You want guidance on parenting challenges
- You’re facing a difficult decision
- You’ve been feeling sad for a long time and don’t know why
- You’re so anxious or worried that you can’t sleep
- You’re having relationship issues at school, work, or home
- You need someone to listen
If you’re unsure after reading the therapist profiles, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help you choose.
Each group of letters shows the therapist’s level of education, the licenses they hold, and other certifications they’ve received. Some examples include:

NCC = National Certified Counselor
PsyD = Doctorate in Psychology
CCTP = Certified Clinical Trauma Professional

Any therapy that includes more than one person in the room is considered family therapy. If you’re looking for couples therapy, family therapy—or both—make sure to check if your therapist offers those services.
